The Hour That Changes the World: A Practical Plan for Personal Prayer
By Dick Eastman
A classic book with a 21st century challenge. More than two million Christians around the world have revitalized their prayer lives through the step by step plan of prayer outlined in this book. You'll be challenged to spend one hour each day in prayer by dividing the hour into twelve five-minute "points of focus," such as praise, waiting, confession, and Scripture praying. In this special 25th anniversary edition of The Hour That Changes the World, Dick Eastman also extends an invitation for believers everywhere to help form continuous walls of prayer in their communities - saturating neighbourhoods and nations with nonstop, focused intercession. Whether you join a wall of prayer or simply apply the twelve point plan, this book will transform your prayer life.

Revival! A People Saturated With God
By Brian Edwards
It was a week-night prayer meeting. There had been bitter opposition to the gospel in the village, and although many attended the meetings from other areas, very few locals attended. A church leader suggested they should go to prayer, and thirty or so moved into the home of a friendly farmer. Prayer was so hard, and about midnight Duncan Campbell turned to the local blacksmith, who had been silent so far, and said, "I feel the time has come when you ought to pray." The man prayed for about half an hour, because in revival time doesn't matter, and then drew his prayer to a close with a bold challenge: "God, your honour is at stake, and I challenge you to keep your covenant engagements." At that moment, Duncan Campbell recalls, "After they prayed, the whole granite house shook like a leaf," and while one elder thought of an earth tremor, Duncan was reminded of Acts 4:31. |

Passion and Purity: Learning to Bring Your Love Life Under Christ's Control
By Elisabeth Elliot
In Passion and Purity, Elisabeth Elliot emphasizes the need to commit daily to Christ all matters of the heart and to wait upon Him. She teaches this often painful yet rewarding discipline by candidly tracing her love story with Jim Elliot as evidence that she has been there. Through letters, diary entries, and memories, she shares the temptations, difficulties, victories, and sacrifices of two young people whose commitment to Christ took priority over their love for each other. Passion and Purity gives honest direction in such areas as: loving passionately while remaining sexually pure, whether or not to marry, who is the right one, the man's and woman's role in relationships, how far is too far physically, and putting God's desires ahead of personal desires.

The Path of Loneliness
By Elisabeth Elliot / Revell
Whether through the death of a loved one, divorce, or estrangement in a marriage, or by being a single person in a world of couples and families, loneliness eventually comes to us all. It is well known that beloved author Elisabeth Elliot lost her first husband to murder in the South American jungle. Perhaps not as well known, she lost her second to the ravages of cancer. She has felt the deep pain of loss, just like you.
In The Path of Loneliness, Elliot gives hope to the lonely through tender reflections on God's love for us and his plans to bless us. Here you will find honesty and compassion, not platitudes. She tackles this difficult topic with grace and faith, showing you how to make peace with loneliness, however it has come about, and how to grow through it. |

God's neighbourhood: A Hopeful journey in Racial Reconciliation and Community Renewal
By Scott Roley & James Isaac Elliott
"Jesus relocated, and calls us to follow...his creation became his neighbourhood. Scott Roley was once an up-and-coming singer/songwriter in the contemporary Christian music scene, but then God called him to a different kind of ministry. He left his life of privilege, became a church pastor and moved into a disadvantaged neighbourhood. There he began to learn hands-on what "loving your neighbour" required of him--social justice, community development and racial reconciliation. Today, as a community leaders and activist, he is embodying the ideals that are needed to forge a just society. His work demonstrates how God uses faith-based organization to change lives. Roley's life journey exemplifies Christian hope in caring for the disinherited and renewing our communities, one neighbourhood at a time.

The Journals of Jim Elliot
By Jim Elliot
Jim Elliot was part of a team of young missionaries murdered in Ecuador in 1956 by the Auca Indians to whom they were witnessing. At the age of 29, he left behind a young widow, a baby daughter, and volumes of personal journals written over many years. In 1978, Revell published the complete and unabridged journals, edited by his widow, Elisabeth, and the journals have stayed in print ever since. And it's no wonder--Jim Elliot was an intelligent thinker and strong writer in these personal, yet universal, musings about faith, work, and love. This book is a wonderful account of the life of a man who yearns to know God's plan for his life, details his fascinating missions work, and loves Elisabeth--first as a single man, then as a happily married one. This book will intrigue fans of Jim and Elisabeth Elliot, readers interested in missions, and young people struggling to find God's plan for their lives.
